Moody Mountain Elopement at Artist Point | Washington Elopement Photographer

If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that feels adventurous, intimate, and completely your own, eloping at Artist Point near Mount Baker is a perfect choice. This spot offers some of the most stunning mountain backdrops in Washington, and it was the dream setting for Berkeley and Kenna’s elopement.

The forecast promised clear skies, but when we arrived, the mountains had other plans. What started as sunshine quickly shifted into soft, moody clouds that draped Artist Point in a romantic haze. Instead of resisting the weather, Berkeley and Kenna embraced it—and the photos turned out better than we could have imagined.

Getting Ready at Picture Lake

The day began at Picture Lake, one of the most iconic photo spots in the Mount Baker Wilderness. Berkeley and Kenna got ready here with their sweet dog, Callie, who was just as much a part of the day as they were. The still waters and alpine reflections created a calm, grounded atmosphere before we headed up the mountain.

Hiking at Artist Point

From there, we drove the winding road to Artist Point, where we set out for a light hike surrounded by panoramic views of Mount Shuksan and Mount Baker. Callie happily trotted along the trail, and the low-hanging clouds gave us the kind of dreamy, cinematic light photographers are always chasing.

An Intimate Ceremony Above the Clouds

Berkeley and Kenna exchanged vows in a simple, heartfelt ceremony surrounded by alpine peaks and mist. It was intimate, emotional, and absolutely perfect for who they are as a couple—adventurous, down-to-earth, and full of love.

Capturing It All

Alongside me, we had the talented Freya Fennwood capturing video clips throughout the day to create a highlight reel. Together, we documented not just the ceremony, but the in-between moments—the laughter, the quiet pauses, and the way the mountains held space for it all.
